Hello all! My name is Haley, and this is my blog “Keeping Kevin”
I’m 23 years old, I’ve been married to my husband Austin for over four years now, and we have a 2 1/2 year old angel named Kevin, who passed away on 11/9/18.
Kevin went home to Jesus after a long, hard fight against his disease (where you can learn more about in the “Kevin” tab). Kevin has taught us so much in the short time that he was here on Earth. How to laugh and play, have fun wherever. how to love unconditionally. He’s shown us our own courage, even in the darkest hour. Losing him has broken us into more pieces than we are even made of, but we have to keep reminding ourselves how beautiful of a soul he was and how grateful we are to have had him as our baby.
So, I am here to share his journey, and our journey as a family, the good and the bad. To share what “life after loss” really means, what my journey with grief looks like. Perhaps most importantly, I am to share the ways in which we honor his life. If there is anything that helps me get through the day, it is knowing that I can carry on his life by putting good out into the world. Helping others, others like us.
“Grief never ends, but it changes. It’s a passage, not a place. Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith. it is the price of love.” -Unkown
